A collection of creative work in print, digital, typography, identity, advertising, packaging, illustration, graffiti, painting, fashion, photography, trends, & more.
I somehow stumbled upon this great collection of rare design books on ebay. The most intriguing being Jan Tschichold’s Die Neue Typographie - The Rare 1928 First Edition! If only I had an extra $1,250… Also very cool is The Stork Club Bar Book by Lucius Beebe, 1946 First Edition with Jacket, Binding and Typography by Paul Rand, and signed by Mr. Rand as well. Plus this Photo-lettering Alphabet Thesaurus, and a TON more. Fun Sunday digging.

Gavin over at CR Blog just did a nice review/interview of designer Iain Cadby’s incredible book designs, including his latest: The Elms Lesters Painting Rooms. -Limited to just 1,000 copies, it’s a lavish affair: it comes packaged in a white, individually numbered screenprinted box. Removal of the dustjacket reveals an irridescent hardback cover, blind embossed, with iconography pertaining to the gallery and its artists. Within the book, the chronological cataloguing of various events is split into sections by smaller pages which serve to make the chapter divisions more evident. Interviews with the various artists also sit on smaller pages within the book, employing different stocks and coloured inks.- Iain has also designed books for the likes of Ron English, José Parla, DELTA, WK Interact, and more. Thanks to Jerrod for the heads up.

My friend Darren just updated his personal site. It’s hard to keep up with this guy, he’s always into something amazing. From WIWP to Two Faced, to his studio, blog, tons of great print work, or building clean online experiences, he’s always producing incredible work. He’s been an inspiration to me, and is so good it actually makes me insane.

The Typographic Desk Reference looks interesting. You have to respect any book that has Ellen Lupton’s name attached to it.
