Svpply is a retail bookmarking and recommendation service. Filtered through the collective wishlists of our members, Svpply features the full spectrum of retail products, from the exclusive to the wholesale. I’ve been addicted to this site ever since I was invited a few months ago when the site first launched. Props to Ben Pieratt, the man behind this project. If you’re interested, my svpply can be found here.
The SPACETIME Collection is co-curated by Poketo and Kitsune Noir and designed by Mike Perry, Cody Hudson, Damien Correll, and Andy Miller. This stellar new series is composed of Poketo’s latest offering of wall art decals, signature wallets, and t-shirts. I was lucky enough to win a set of decals through Twitter, and it’s a really rad collection. It’s a perfectly curated colab. Below are some standard product shots, as well as some shots from the set I received, that my daughter and I (mostly her) used to decorate her room! So fun, and cool to know that some of my favorite artists now occupy space in my house (I have the Cody Hudson set in my studio). There’s also a pic of a print from my friend Tiphanie Brooke in her room too. Big thanks to Poketo for the Twitter contest!
Along with print and apparel, design shop Workerman produces some really beautiful handcrafted wooden handlebars out of select hardwoods. Form over function, these bars aren’t intended for actually riding, although, they look so good I might take my chances. via Lifter Baron
Three Potato Four is one of those gems that you want to keep to yourself, but have to share because it’s so great. I love found things, old type & signage, furniture, etc. and their collection is just ridiculous. So much good stuff, I want it all! You can also check out the collecting duo - Janet Morales & Stu Eli – and their love of collections on their blog, Facebook, and follow them on Twitter.
Just got a copy of wejetset’s, City Notes • New York. Cool little publication that’s part interview and part travel guide. City Notes takes its readers on a humble tour of a metropolis through the eyes of a creative professional. I check in on wejetset quite often and they are always at the forefront of travel-focused material and culture, so when they put out a publication like this, pick it up and take heed. You can request a free copy here.
Nice pillow from CB2. Plain white with black helvetica type. I wish there were variations as far as what the type on the pillow reads, or better yet, the ability to customize.
Grid is a new magazine coming out of Philly, designed and published by Red Flag Media, under the direction of Alex Mulcahy.
This new publication inspires the people of Philadelphia to create a more just, livable and sustainable city. The theme of the first issue is biking, and to show how engrained they are in this cause, they’ve inked a deal with the Pedal Co-op to distribute the mag entirely by bike, it’s also printed on 100% recycled paper, and employees of the mag are reimbursed for public transit costs, etc. Sounds like a great initiative, and something that Philly could certainly benefit from. Look for the full premier issue in print on January 15th, or catch a preview online or download a PDF. On a side note, I see one of my friends Melissa is already doing some illustration work for them. Good stuff.
One of the leading visual voices in the “Street Culture” world, Eric Elms updates his personal site Adorn with a crazy amount of amazing work, for a client roster that most would envy. I was fortunate enough to see some of his work in person at the Source Material group show at 222 Gallery in Philly back in ’07. Good stuff.
I’ve been a fan of Nubby Twiglet for a while. Her blog, her work, her style – all really impressive. With features like: Link Love, The Week in Pictures, Fashion/Decor Notebooks, Ask Nubby, and What I Wore, she always keeps it fresh.
