A collection of creative work in print, digital, typography, identity, advertising, packaging, illustration, graffiti, painting, fashion, photography, trends, & more.
Curtis Jinkins is a graduate of the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, currently freelancing in Austin, Texas. I initially discovered his work through FFFFound, and then Dribbble where he’s consistently posting great work with a solid overall aesthetic. You can sense his understanding of type and illustration, and see it applied to everything from gig posters to identity.
Gerren Lamson is a designer, illustrator, drawer & printmaker currently working for Springbox out of Texas. I’m loving the overall aesthetic of Gerren’s site which showcases work from high-profile brands like LIVESTRONG and LG to local projects for Visual Art Center, as well as some great personal illustration work.
Andy Baron is a San Francisco-based designer who spent several years with Landor Associates before teaming up with Tomorrow Partners. I love his recent redesign of the Miller High Life packaging, and overall he’s got some solid work, and smart ideas like his proposed identity for the San Diego Zoo, based on their catchy tagline, Wild at Heart.
An inspiring piece about Scott Schuman’s Sartorialist. Leading a visual life, doing what you love, and “letting yourself fall in love a little bit everyday.”
Jason Alejandro is currently a Book Designer at Princeton University Press and an adjunct professor at Kean University. He freelances under the name Archetype, on a variety of projects for artists, musicians, fashion/beauty brands, corporate communications, publications, educational organizations, and design studios. Jason is also co-founder of the design blog The Takeover.
Throughout his 10 year career, Jeff Docherty has been fortunate enough to touch all aspects of his profession, from managing in-house creative teams to developing external client relationships, brand communications, idea generation, and photography art direction. These experiences are as diverse as the places he’s acquired them — advertising and branding agencies, boutique design studios, and international publications. He’s created some stellar work along the way, for a very impressive roster of clients including, The New York Times Magazine, Nike, and I.D. magazine to name a few.
Tünr | Fine Tune Your Feet.
My good friend Jerrod Modica runs his own shop, T2AP based right outside of Philly. He recently launched his new brand Tünr, a dope line of laces and socks to go with your favorite sneakers. Right now Tünr offers 10 styles of socks and 10 styles of laces. The laces come in multiple designs, lengths, widths — plastic and metal aglets — and they coordinate with the socks. Part of the collection will also be collaborative, the first of which is with Dee & Ricky, with many more efforts in the works.
Find’em near you, they’re well crafted and super-comfy.
For his Master’s thesis, Joe Galbreath investigated the forms, artifacts and aesthetics of Globe Poster Printing. For 9 months he spent time at the shop organizing and analyzing artifacts, talking with the owners and investigating the visual language of this prolific Baltimore institution.
This specimen sheet series attempts to collect and organize Globe’s vast library of original graphics by documenting a singular exploration of form or content. Each specimen was printed using the original blocks found by scouring drawers, boxes, shelves, cabinets and cubby holes around the shop.
Born and raised in Canada, Ed Nacional has been living and working out of Brooklyn for a few years now on a range of projects spanning print, identity, posters, digital and more. I’m a big fan of his typography and illustrations, good stuff.
Caleb Owen Everitt has an eye for design and art direction that’s really inspiring. I remember swooning over his identity & packaging work for The Chop Shop when I first came across on Ptarmak. His sensibility is evident throughout his work, and while some follows trend (which maybe he starts?), it does so in a way that makes it feel fresh and authentic. Almost effortless.
